The Traditional Canberra Appreciation Month song

Hello faithful readers and welcome to Mister Evil Breakfast’s Canberra Appreciation Month for 2010. Cue fireworks and orchestras and stuff.

The Canberra firewworks display never fails to disappoint

Canberra – by M.E. Breakfast

There’s a place that I love
that is where I call my home,
It’s got everything I need
Right at the Hyperdome.

You can jump onto a bus
And make a hundred new best friends
Who will all ask for a dollar
When the bus ride ends.

The weather’s always nice and warm
Until you go outside
And Kambah is a lovely place
But don’t walk the streets at night.

If a Canberra man plants a tree
Or a farmer buys a cow,
WIN local news will tell us why
And when and where and how.

If you like the quiet life,
Then Canberra’s the place to be,
Especially in our nightclubs
Like Academy.

Or if you’re more adventurous
And prefer the great outdoors,
We’ve got action that you can’t believe
In all Blockbuster stores.

We welcome all our visitors
From England to Japan
From every corner of the globe
Except from Queanbeyan.

Hanging out at Tilleys
A lesbian bar, it is said,
Then swing on down to All Bar
And get urinated on your head

Fyshwick is famous, Australia wide
You can get anything you need
Fireworks, used cars, Bunnings
Plus some hardcore porn and weed

Garema Place, near King O'Malleys
It is a tourists dream
Nip down there and score some smack
And watch the massive screen

Every January, the Summernats
Hot cars is what the fans will see
Bogans doing laps of Lonsdale Street
Drinking slushies of JD.

Righto there, John Lennon. Thanks for being better than me. If you wouldn't mind knocking up a piece on Mawson Woolworths for me, that would be tops.
